Hi,
Posting your critiques here is quite easy, as most of you already know. However, for those of us who live a little far from Nairobi, let me explain.
The course email is com361audio@gmail.com and the password is audioproduction. Just make sure you spell it correctly! You will need this email and password to log on to blogger.com then sign in, just kawa as you would with your email. When signed in, click the create new post link and you're ready to roll.
If you have a gmail account, you can follow this blog (audioproductioncritiques.blogspot.com) and you'll receive updates whenever anyone posts something on here.
P.S. If you think the name is shady, please forgive it. Or just change it... in your mind.
Enjoy!
So for this week i was listening to world Briefing-BBC Morning at 7-9 am. This show is basically about stories from across the Uk, News, sports and exclusive interviews. The show is hosted by Victoria Derbyshire. It has many reportes represented in all the mentioned regions. I compared this show with the Big Breakfast which is aired on KISS 100 from 7-10am by Caroline Mutoko, Jalango and Larry Asego.I preferred listening to Big Breakfast as Compared to world Briefing because the issues being discussed on Big Breakfast affect me in a way and they are close home. The KISS 100 presenters discuss recent issues affecting Kenyans and they make their discussions lively as they have debates and comments from listeners. On the other hand,On World Briefing, its basically listening to world news for 2hours which is quite tiresome as they are no debates or listeners calling in to give their comments.

Hey guys..Hope you are well. I have been listening to the 'Drive on' show on ctitizen radio. The host of the show is Tina Ogal and she sometimes has a co-host called Kasuku. The show is in Swahili. They play music and ask people to text in their problems as they try to solve them. They also ask riddles and give people cash prizes.
ReplyDeletesome of the stereotypes that i found is that they imitate accents from a certain community in an attempt to make the show interesting. They also associate certain behaviour to a certain community some of which are not true.
They discuss a certain issue in soceity and take different sides so as to encourage their audience to participate. In one for example they discuss whether a guy should educate a lady he will marry. They take different sides with the co-host arguing that if a lady is educated first, she will leave. He argues that this is what ladies do(another stereotype)
many sound effects are used especially in adverts in between the show.
The show is original and unique because of language, but they dont discuss one thing fully as they soon jump into another topic.
I have not quite gotten a match from BBC network but hope to find one this week or else will have to change the show.
I haven't quite found a show on BBC to match it but hope that i will soon find or change it altogether.
